My grandfather taught me chess and it has been an invaluable lesson that I am always grateful for, the “what if…” question is certainly underused by some. Nice posting

And who could forget Vegemite?

The 'Happy Little Vegemites' TVC has been wheeled out every few years for decades.

Australians can't seem to get enough of it.

The lead in to your article reminded me of one of the greatest 'puns-in-advertising' ever created...and I know they are bad but this is the baddest. There used to be a Citroen dealership on William St. They ran a one day only special promo (on July 14th) under the banner of 'Best Deal Day'. C'est tres brilliant!!! They don't pun 'em like that anymore!

Our economy is actually quite healthy according to economist Ross Gittens

But perception is reality. Smart marketers are indeed embracing 'value' messages because that's what Australians currently want to hear.

Funny how things change.

During the Vietnam War ANZAC day (and all things military) was deeply unpopular with the wider community.

A brand wouldn't have gone anywhere near it back then.

Interesting how a 'cataclysmic' events brings forth floods of help...and so they should. But what if a disaster is 10 years in the making and affects people...just as strongly...but in a slow, slow manner. We've been in drought in SA for 10 years, communities have been destroyed, environments have been devasted...but where was the national clamour to help? Thankfully our current drought is probably over...but look further west and it's still going on...slowly.
